Not all kids are the same.

If you’ve found yourself here, your child or student may be an intellectual non-conformer. Children with exceptional cognitive capacity often express an uncommon, relentless and brave interest in the world around them. It’s one of the first and most reliable signs of ‘giftedness.’

At Little Polymath, you’ll find in-depth product reviews, book recommendations, travel ideas, and more resources to support your child’s curiosity and intellectual growth. We believe in curiosity-led, interdisciplinary, whole-child support for our gifted kids.

Our mission is to foster and honor our Little Polymaths by supporting learning in math, engineering, art, history, language, culture and more.

A polymath is defined less by how much they know and more by how they learn. They approach the world as an interconnected system, where art informs science, questions lead to more questions, and understanding grows through the synthesis of information. They explore across disciplines, deepening their understanding through the intersection of ideas, and opening the door to unique and exceptional solutions.

Our kids

While we use it on occasion, we actually don’t prefer the term ‘gifted.’ It’s a euphemism that can do more harm than good. Every child is gifted, but not every child is high IQ, intellectually advanced, or saddled with all-consuming world curiosity. These qualities are gifts, but can result in isolation and constant exposure to inappropriate material without skillful management.
Most recommendations out there exist for most of our community’s amazing children, perhaps as they should. But that leaves the parents and educators of outliers floundering. The recommendations given to most same-age children rarely will work for your child, but if you look for content geared towards older children, the content itself may be inappropriate. Little Polymath is here to support you and your outlier. Our outlier children need age-appropriate content and intellectually appropriate depth. They need specialized recommendations and carefully tailored content to support them socially, emotionally and cognitively. Our children deserve the opportunity to excel at the pace that is right for them and to satisfy their extraordinary curiosity. Our mission is to provide you with the resources to do it.
We believe curiosity deserves protection as much as it deserves encouragement, and that extraordinary minds thrive best when they are supported with intention, discernment, and respect for the whole child.
